Lindley Moor - Piled and Split Level Plots
This contract was the begining of a series of back to earth plots for us with one of our biggest clients.
We were contracted to provide foundations and retaining walls to a row of 9 plots with back to earth retaining walls, as well as large inter-garden retaining walls, and piles and ground beams to numerous plots.
The plots and retaining wall bases were all conventionally founded, with a continuous retaining wall stem, including regular movement joints.
The retaining walls were tanked to prevent water ingress to the lower ground floor habitable areas.
Cote Farm - Split Level Plots
This site was the second series of split level plots for us with one of our biggest clients.
We were contracted to provide piled foundations and piled retaining walls to 5 sets of terraced plots with back to earth retaining walls.
Some plots and retaining wall bases were conventionally founded, however some were piled.
In addition to the split level plots, we were also contracted to install piled plots, and inter-garden retaining walls.
Swanwick - Predrilled Piled Plots
completed in two phases we were contracted to provide foundations to 17 plots, including 7 split level plots.
The plots were located over a backfilled quarry. The backfill ranged from 20-30m deep, with pile loads up to 450kN
Due to the long length of piles, and associated cost, the retaining aspect of these plots was carefully engineered to be as effective as possible to reduce the cost to the client.
Our scope of works included design, setting out, pre-drilling, pile installation, testing & cropping, and the construction of ground beams, retaining wall bases, kicker and stems.
Southowram - Split Level Plots
This site saw 6 No. back to earth plots built over elland flag workings.
We were contracted to drill and grout the workings prior to pre-drilling and piling the plots and integral retaining walls.
The pile lengths varied over the site from 6m to keep piles above the workings, maintaining sufficient rock cover, up to 25m, where there was insufficient rock cover.
Whitehaven - Pre-drilled Piles & Ground Beams
This site required pre-drilled piles through worked coal seams that had previously been drilled and grouted.
We worked hard to get the job completed in a timely fashion, using pre-fabricated reinforcement, and pre-bent proprietary system shuttering.
Following the piling, this allowed the ground beams to the 5 plots to be completed in just 8 days, including excavation and backfilling.
Including pre-drilling, piling up to 12m deep, and all RC works, these 5 plots took just 15 days.
